The Meta-Environment

VM Ware Image

For convenience of installation, we provide a VM Ware image containing Ubuntu Linux 8.04 and ASF+SDF Meta-Environment RC3. It can be found here:

• http://www.meta-environment.org/releases/ubuntu804+asfsdf-meta-201.zip (includes alpha pre-release of rscript-meta)

Instructions:

• Download and install VMWare player or VirtualBox.
  • Mac OSX users on Intel Macs should use VirtualBox.
• Unzip the image archive.
• Load ubuntu804+asfsdf-meta-201RC3/Ubuntu.vmx into the VMWare player, select "I copied it".
  • Mac OSX users using VirtualBox should create a new Machine, and select the VMWare image when asked about creating a hard disk.
• To log in use "user", "user" as username and password.
• Start the Meta-Environment by typing "asfsdf-meta" from a command line prompt or use the icon on the desktop.
